Using Mr Connery for my swimwear inspiration

Might be taking a last minute late summer break if work allows it, so with the potential scenario I started thinking of my beach attire. I've decided I'm going to use this iconic shot of Sean Connery as my inspiration. Mainly love the colour and length of the shorts. It has to be the Orlebar Brown setter short in sky blue. Straight away pictured myself in a pair of red Tod's or Gucci drivers. Bit flashy but my minds made up. Oh I do love matching an outfit to a scenario. Now I've just gotta find some time off work!

The JImmy Choo "Randor"

I can only describe these shoes in my own words as "the nuts". Jimmy Choo have created a shoe of unrivalled beauty. The "Randor" with its leather and suede combo and vintage detailing is a gorgeous looking pair of footwear. I see these on Mark Ronson in a two tone colour-way at LC:M which looked amazing with his check McQueen suit. I think I'm leaning towards the oxblood as the colour really picks out the design of the shoe in all its glory. Bellissimo!

LC:M stylish salute: Andrew Weitz

During LC:M one fellow who constantly dressed the part was American talent agent Andrew Weitz. His tailoring was ridiculously on point. Sharp as knife with a contemporary finesse, Mr Weitz's formal stance was very clean cut but so effective. He was playful with a Lanvin button hole flower on one of the days but didn't over "do" the accessories and I loved his pastel blue DB outfit. Andrew Weitz I salute you Sir.

Tom Kilbey's Merge LDN

The other week I caught up with Tom Kilbey founder of contemporary street wear label Merge LDN. Most people will know Tom Kilbey off the reality show The Only Way Is Essex, but unlike most of the show's cast who court the media attention Tom very much shy's away from it. Tom's only in his early twenties but he has serious business savvy about where he wants to go with the brand and how he wants himself and the brand to be perceived. Got a really cool article piece coming out in the next week so I don't wanna blab on too much about our chat. Keep your eyes peeled for it on www.mensfashionmagazine.co.uk and follow me on Twitter @danielrhone for updates.

Merge at the moment only has a small capsule collection but I love the "Tuntill" jacket. This utilitarian gem with the metal clasps is what proper functional outerwear with style is all about.

Sidney and George shoot

Last Sunday I helped my favourite fashion collective Sidney and George (check theses guys out their gonna be big! www.sidneyandgeorge.com) set up a test shoot with an up and coming pal of ours stepping into the cameras gaze. Believe it or not it was the first time Rhys Browne had done any sort of modelling before. Ok he's raw but serious potential no?! Some of these shots are ridiculously good.

LC:M stylish salute: Mr David Walker-Smith

Mr Walker-Smith has always been on my stylish radar. Formerly at Selfridges and now MD at Fenwicks Bond Street, David is always impeccably turned out. He proved this fact when I bumped into him at the Hunter Gather presentation on the Monday morning. Dressed in a slick long length black jacket, tapered black trousers and white lace ups, he showed the stylish collective how mod contemporary tailoring was to be worn. Seriously the jacket was ridiculous! Also accessorised perfectly as a fashion professional should do with a black leather document holder. Nonchalant style at it best. I'm actually going to be interviewing David for www.mensfashionmagazine.co.uk next week and you can bet one question that will be put to him.. Where is that jacket from?!

LC:M stylish salutes: Mr Dan Rookwood

Dan Rookwood oozed style throughout the three days in London and showed his sartorial range. Saturday evening when I saw him at the Dolce & Gabbana event, he wore a unstructured jacket with a dressed down pair of cotton trousers and nautical striped tee for the informal social engagements ahead that evening. The next three days though he was anything but informal. He killed it on the first day with a gorgeous signature Thom Sweeney check three piece, contrasting separates the next and on the final day another traditional three piece number. Mr Rookwood I salute you Sir.

LC:M stylish salutes: Mr David Gandy

Sincere apologies. This piece is seriously overdue, but I had to post these regardless that its two months late! Like I mentioned in a previous LC:M post, there was an abundance of dapper and stylish chaps I just had to Salute. David Gandy should of really of had his own section on this. He smashed it over the three days firstly in Dolce & Gabbana on saturday night. Then flying the flag for the British high street in a beautiful DB Reiss custom three piece. He then demonstrated the power of the "separates" in a powerful Thom Sweeney double breasted number and a slight dressed down Suede beauty. Try to block out the "made from stone" features, this is how men should dress to impress.

On the hunt for some vintage Pochettes

I've made a conscious decision. I need to inject some real classy flair into my hankie collection. I'm on the hunt for some vintage pochettes, notably from silk and print masters Hermes and Pucci. Now that it seems that every Tom, Dick and Harry are displaying some sort of breast pocket decoration, its time to push the boundaries where a simple polka dot and paisley won't do! Check out the colour combos on these bad boys. The hunt is on.

R Patz in Dior Homme teaser

When it was announced that Robert Pattinson was replacing Mr Jude Law as the face of the Dior Homme fragrance, I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the appointment. As an avid wearer of the fragrance from day dot in 2005, to me it represents a real stylish masculinity. A statement that has obvious parallels with Jude. I just can't see that with Mr Pattinson (please forgive me twilight die hards). Though over the past months I have softened to the idea and this week saw the first shot, essentially a teaser of "R Patz" getting his Dior Homme on. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by what team Dior have up their sleeve.
